Abstract
Summary. Plasma from normal individuals incorporates 14C‐labelled glycine ethyl ester into casein. The incorporation of glycine ethyl ester into casein was directly proportional to the time of incubation and to the amount of normal plasma present. Plasma from patients with known congenital deficiency of Factor XIII did not incorporate 14C‐labelled glycine ethyl ester into casein, suggesting that transamidase activity represents the action of Factor XIII in the formation of normal plasma clot. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
