Abstract
The effectiveness of a topical steroid, flunisolide, was evaluated in patients with perennial rhinitis. Patients (34) went through a double-blind cross-over study, comparing flunisolide 200 .mu.g per day with placebo. The symptoms were assessed over 2 treatment periods each of 4 wk, with a 2 wk washout period in between. There was a statistically significant difference in favor of flunisolide. About half of the patients complained of mild initial irritation from both active drug and placebo. Keywords
