Abstract
The hole concentration dependence of the lattice vibrations in Bi2Sr2Ca1-x Y x Cu2O8+y was investigated by Raman spectroscopy. A full assignment of the vibrational modes in CuO5 pyramidal layers was made. The anisotropy between x and y is large for the phonon energies. On decreasing the hole concentration, the energy shifts of the vibrational modes of layered O atoms are larger than those of apical O atoms, which indicates that doped holes enter the layered O sites. The resonant enhancement of the Ag modes at 141 and 187 cm-1 and the B1g mode at 326 cm-1 indicates strong electronphonon interactions. Keywords
