Abstract
I. emarginata, I. neglecta, I. baltica and I. linearis are predominantly sub-littoral, down to about 10 fathoms, among decaying and living algae; I. granulosa and I. pelagica are shore spp., former amongst Ascophyllum and Fucus, and latter on exposed shores, where it shelters in empty barnacle shells; and I. viridis inhabits brackish pools at HWM and above. Expts. tested adaptation of spp. to salinity and humidity; their ecological adaptation is discussed. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
