Abstract
A high uptake of radioactive I (I131) by the thyroid gland is frequently found in euthyroid patients on a rice-diet regimen. The high uptake of I131 is probably due to the I restriction in the diet. This manifestation of restricted I intake does not develop until after 3 months on the diet. No enlargement of the thyroid gland is associated with this phenomenon. Keywords
