Abstract
Several improvements in the differential‐transformer‐type of dilatometer have been made. Unwanted differential expansion and mechanical hysteresis have been minimized by proper design of the sample holder and transformer mount. High sensitivity in temperature control together with linearity in the rate of heating have been produced by substituting a programmable reference‐voltage controller for the conventional control system. Furthermore, replacing the sample does not require disassembling the sample holder. Operation from 25 to 1700°C is fully automatic. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
