Abstract
SUMMARY An undescribed fungus causing root rot of strawberry is described and placed in a new genus, Idriella. The genus is characterized by the production in dry heads of non-septate, hyaline, lunate conidia, on short, light-brown, non-septate conidiophores. Dark brown chlamy-dospores are produced in culture and in the cortical tissues of infected roots. The species has been designated Idriella lunata. Keywords
