Abstract
Data are presented on the copper contents of 805 samples of citrated whole blood and plasma from cattle. The range in copper contents covers variations in copper status extending from extreme deficiency states to more than normal intakes. Whole blood and plasma of cattle contain approximately equal concentrations of copper only in the vicinity of 1 µg/ml. Evaluation of copper status from blood analyses requires appropriate allowance for differences in the copper contents of whole blood and plasma. Keywords
