An Empirical Study Of Employment Conditions For Tourism And Hospitality Faculty

Abstract
This article examines the employment environment for tourism and hospitality faculty in the United States. The results of a survey of 42 universities offering tourism and/or hos pitality programs give details of workloads, compensation, and standards for hiring, tenure, and promotion. Conditions for faculty in programs that are either predominantly tourism-based or predominantly hospitality-based are compared.
