Dominance of Monopole and Quadrupole Pairs in the Nilsson Model

Abstract
The intrinsic state of the Nilsson model is analyzed in terms of nucleon pairs coupled to spins , , , ,.... It is shown that and pairs dominate the Cooper pair which constitutes the intrinsic state with large quadrupole deformation.
