Vitamin K-dependent carboxylation: inhibition by a peptide containing 4-methylene glutamic acid

Abstract
The peptide Boc-4-methylene Glu-Glu-Val has been synthesized and shown to be a strong inhibitor of the vitamin K-dependent carboxylation catalyzed by a detergent solubilized rat liver microsome preparation. The inhibition is apparently competitive with respect to the substrate peptide and non-competitive with respect to HCO3−Vitamin KCarboxylation4-Methylene glutamic acidγ-Carboxyglutamic aci
