Abstract
Novick and Szylard''s chemostat was simplified to suit routine work in microbiology. Constant rate delivery of nutrient solution into a growth tube is obtained by using a column of liquid to regulate the inflow of nutrient. An inverted Erlenmeyer flask containing the nutrient solution serves to keep the level of the column constant. The apparatus can be obtained from Erway Glass Blowing Co., Oregon, Wis .Keywords
