Abstract
Three male S. iaponicum (Formosan strain) recovered from hamsters with bisexual infections were found to possess anomalies of the sex organs previously undescribed for this sp. One male worm possessed, in addition to a normal group of testicular lobes, a well developed ovary, an oviduct leading from the ovary to an ootype. Two other male worms possessed, in addition to the normal complement of testicular lobes, supernumerary testes. In one worm with 2 super-numerary testicular lobes, the supernumerary sex organs were provided with a vas deferens and seminal vesical separate from the vas deferens and seminal vesicle of the normal testes. An examination of 400 male S.iaponicum (Chinese and Japanese strains) failed to reveal any further anomalies. Keywords
