Abstract
Multinucleon transfer reactions were observed in the bombardment of targets with 85 and 87 MeV ion beams. Low yields of neutron deficient particles such as , , , and were distinguished from stronger reaction groups using a position sensitive ionization chamber in the focal plane of a quadrupole-dipole-dipole-dipole magnetic spectrograph. The investigation of the nuclear rearrangement reaction (,) determined a value of -5.653±0.055 MeV for the mass excess of and indicated excited states at 0.80±0.10, 1.86±0.05,and 2.25±0.05 MeV. In the (, ) reaction the transition to was observed with a cross section of 700 nb/sr. The mass excess of was found to be -10.650±0.055 MeV. The -stripping reaction (,) on was observed with a cross section of 12 nb/sr and was tentatively assigned to the transition to . This yields a mass excess of -8.760±0.055 MeV for this new isotope.
