Abstract
Cocoabutter, Sumatra palm oil, lard, groundnut oil, soybean oil and cottonseed oil have been analyzed by separating the triglycerides according to their degree of unsaturation by means of thin‐layer chromatography on silica impregnated with silver nitrate. Of each triglyceride fraction obtained in this way, the fatty acid composition舒overall and at the 2‐position舒has been determined. Moreover, the triglyceride composition of the fractions of cocoabutter, Sumatra palm oil and lard has been determined by means of gasliquid chromatography. The results confirm the correctness of Vander Wal舗s theory on the distribution of fatty acids in the triglycerides of vegetable natural fats. Keywords
