Abstract
A range of optical studies has been carried out on a series of single quantum wells of CdTe/MnTe. The structures appear to be nearly pseudomorphic and show evidence for very effective electron-hole confinement. For thin quantum-well layers, efficient low-temperature photoluminescence up to yellow-green photon energies has been obtained. Coupling of excitons to longitudinal-optical phonons has also been measured. Keywords
