Abstract
Blockade of the renin-angiotensin system by the angiotensin analogue saralasin may have both diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Response to this investigational drug appears to provide a noninvasive means of identifying patients with renovascular and some other “angiotensinogenic” hypertensions. It is also seen as potentially useful in the management of hypertensive crises or states exacerbated by angiotensin excess. Keywords
