Direct photon production byπmbeams and the ratio of cross sections byπ−andπ+

Recent data on direct photon production by positive- and negative-pion beams are confronted with earlier QCD predictions. Particular emphasis is given to the ratio of ${\pi }^{\mathrm{-}}$N→γX and ${\pi }^{+}$N→γX cross sections.
