Abstract
Observations of the magnetic-field splitting of the circularly polarized photoluminescence excitation spectrum of light-hole excitons in the well region and of the excitons in the magnetic barrier layers of various CdTe/ Te multiple quantum wells are described. These results indicate that the magnetic response of the first few monolayers of the barrier layer is different from that of equivalent bulk material, and can be understood in terms of appreciable short-range potentials situated at the well-barrier interface region.
