Abstract
One hundred i.v. infusions of C. parvum were given to 36 [cancer] patients at a dose of 5 mg/m2. Fever and rigors occurred in all patients but these acute side effects were acceptable to all but 2 patients. Seventeen patients suffered a delayed fall in blood pressure, which was marked in 8 of them but was generally well tolerated. One patient died 18 h after infusion from extensive myocardial infarction. Herpes labialis complicated the 1st infusion in 9 instances, which may reflect transient immunosuppression following immunotherapy. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
