Abstract
This paper examines the relationship of the three major components in any cadastral system, namely land registration, cadastral surveying and large-scale cadastral mapping, to a statewide parcel-based land information system. Particular emphasis is given to New South Wales, although many of the comments have application to similar cadastral systems in Australia and overseas. Keywords
