Variational principle for relativistic magnetohydrodynamics

Abstract
A variational principle for relativistic magnetohydrodynamics is formulated. As an application, the properties of small-amplitude waves and their interaction with the mean flow are calculated. The generation of waves by an external current is incorporated into the formalism.Keywords
