D-meson decay in the1Nexpansion

Abstract

Exclusive decays of the

D^{0}

meson into

K^{-} π^{+}

K^{-} ρ^{+}

K^{* -} π^{+}

K^{* -} ρ^{+}

, and

K^{-} A_{1}^{+}

are reanalyzed using the

\frac{1}{N}

expansion,

N

being the number of colors, and recent data on semileptonic

D

decays. Except for the

D^{0} \to K^{-} A_{1}^{+}

decay rate, which is smaller than the measured value by a factor of 4, the other decay rates are found to be more or less in agreement with experiment.
