Abstract
The results of the present study demonstrate that the chronic infusion of ACTH stimulates endogenous steroidogenesis, suppresses PRA, and leads to the development of hypertension in normal rats; the hypertension is reversible upon cessation of ACTH infusion. This experimental model should prove useful for studying adrenal mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of hypertension. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
