Abstract
The authors develop a model for hadron production in relativistic heavy-ion collision, in the energy range 5-30 GeV/A in the CM frame. It is essentially a Fermi-Landau-type hydrodynamic model, but takes into account the 'bag pressure' and the deconfinement phase transition. These modifications are required in view of the present experimental knowledge of inelastic pp collisions, which are analysed in some detail. The authors propose to present numerical solutions for heavy-ion collisions in another paper. Keywords
