Abstract
Differential and total cross sections for the elastic scattering of electrons and positrons by magnesium atoms in the intermediate energy region from 10 to 500 eV are calculated using a real optical potential and are compared with the available theoretical and experimental results. The agreement with the experimental data is only moderate but that with the theoretical values of Gregory and Fink (1974) is fairly good. Keywords
