Abstract
Two nymphs (one reared to male) and one female of Haema-physalis nepalensis Hoogstraal, 1962 were collected from sheep and three nymphs by flag-dragging on vegetation in Kameng Division, North East Frontier Agency, India, at an altitude of approximately 6000 ft. The nymphal stage is described for the first time and the relationships of this unusual species are discussed. New host and distributional data for adults of this tick in Nepal are also provided.
