Abstract
Protoplasts from the cells of mature embryo sacs (ES-protoplasts) of Torenia fournieri were obtained during incubation of ovules in an enzyme solution. Four protoplasts which arose from each embryo sac were connected together after isolation, or aggregates of the egg cell protoplast and two synergide protoplasts dissociated from the protoplast of the central cell. The ES-protoplasts stayed viable for 2 weeks in culture, but they did not regenerate cell walls. Keywords
