Abstract
Over 95% of the DNA extracted from sheep heart mitochondria has an equilibrium density in CsCl close to that of the main component of nuclear DNA. Forty per cent of this DNA displays the sedimentation characteristics and renaturation behavior of mitochonrial DNA from other mammals and birds studied. A 1.714 satellite DNA is present and for reasons described, is not believed to be a mitochondrial component. This publication has 22 references indexed in Scilit:
