Abstract
Twelve healthy postmenopausal volunteers underwent urodynamic investigation twice within two months. The two investigations were highly reproducible. The maximum urethral closure pressure and the functional profile length were on average 51.8 cm H2O, and 2.8 cm, respectively and were significantly lower than the values previously found in healthy fertile women. The maximum flow rate was 24.7 ml/sec. The flow rates, the cystometric and pressure-flow parameters were compared to previously obtained values in healthy fertile women and showed no differences except for a significantly higher premicturition detrusor and intravesical pressure in the postmenopausal group. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
