Abstract
The photoabsorption coefficient of high-temperature (- eV) and high-density (- ) aluminum plasma in the range of eV is calculated. The calculation uses detailed configuration accounting. The photoabsorption mechanisms included are the photoelectric effect, inverse bremsstrahlung, Compton effect, and bound-bound photoexcitation. The Stark broadening of the sharp-line and the absorption-edge structure is properly taken into account and its influence versus ion density is shown. The sensitivity of the results to changes in the various parameters is discussed.
