Abstract
Raman spectra of Fe3+ and Cr3+ doped MgO single crystals have been obtained, and are interpreted with the help of the projected densities of states of pure MgO. The spectra of the two crystals are different, presumably because the Cr3+ ions are at non-cubic sites. Keywords
