Abstract
Dielectric constant and loss measurements at wavelengths of 3.22 and 1.24 cm have been carried out upon liquid ammonia at temperatures from —55° to —35°C. The results have been used to calculate the approximate dielectric relaxation time values, 1.5×10—12 sec at —50° and 1.3×10—12 at —40°. The relaxation times and the liquid viscosities are much smaller than those of water, but extrapolation to the boiling points of the two liquids gives values of comparable magnitudes. Keywords
