Abstract
To the Editor: With interest we note the discussion about prostaglandins, bone resorption and hypercalcemia,1 a topic that has been the subject of two previous articles2 , 3 in the Journal. The aforementioned authors1 state at the end of their letter that "one cannot exclude the participation of prostaglandins other than E2 or their metabolites" with respect to the inhibition of prostaglandin activity by indomethacin. The observation of hypercalcemia induced by prostaglandin F2α on the occasion of the induction of abortion seems to be of relevance to this question and to the possible role of bone metastases.
