Four new species of Podapolipoides (Acari: Podapolipidae) ectoparasitic on grasshoppers (Orthoptera: Acrididae) in the Western Hemisphere

Abstract
Four new species of Podapolipoides are described from the Western Hemisphere: P. eickworti from Schistocerca americana (Drury) from Florida, P. cochisensis from Trimerotropis p. pallidipennis (Burmeister) from Arizona, P. melanocerae from Schistocerca melanocera (Stael) from the Galapagos Islands and P. flechtmanni from an acridid grasshopper from Brazil. All hosts are Acrididae (Orthoptera). Keys to Podapolipoides of the Western Hemisphere are included.Keywords
