Abstract
The 2d dissocia-tion constant of glycerol 1-phosphate was determined over the range 5-50[degree] at 5[degree] intervals, cells without liquid junction with hydrogen and silver-silver chloride electrodes being used. The standard thermodynamic quantities associated with the 2d dissociation of glycerol 1-phosphate, [DELTA]G[degree], [DELTA]S[degree], 4[DELTA]H[degree] and [DELTA]C[image] were evaluated and critically compared with those of glycerol 2-phosphate and orthophosphoric acid. The information given will allow the preparation of standard buffers of glycerol 1-phosphate in the range pH 5-7 and up to ionic strengths of 0.1.
