Abstract
Management of abnormal uterine bleeding necessitates a complete history, careful physical examination, and when indicated, laboratory and surgical diagnostic procedures to exclude organic causes. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding is often amenable to medical therapies, especially when anovulation is the basic defect. Medical and surgical management are alternative, not competitive, therapies that must be tailored to each patient. Keywords
