Abstract
Crossed circulation expts. showed that the rise in blood pressure observed during electronarcosis, especially after severing the vagus nerves, can be explained only in small part by hormonal mechanisms. The considerable drop in blood pressure, often below the prenarcotic value, which occurs when the 30 secs. high initial current is either cut or reduced to the narcotic level, is probably due to the exhaustion of the sympathetic system which is stimulated strongly by the high current. Keywords
