Abstract
An improved single-foil method to determine the effective dead time of a pulse-detecting circuit is described. Experimental comparison with other methods showed that a better accuracy was achieved. The present method is also useful for determining accurately the absorption factor of a sample and the attenuation factor of absorbers. Keywords
