Abstract
Of the solid matter of extracts, 90-95% is lost on dialysis. The dialyzable matter consists mainly of low molecular weight carbohydrate with small amounts of amino-acids and peptides. Of the non-dialyzable part, at least 4 components can be distinguished by electrophoresis. Further analysis by a variety of methods, including precipititation by ammonium sulfate, does not yield definite single components. The major part of this matter is proteinic, although positive tests for carbohydrate were obtained with the whole material and one fraction. Keywords
