Abstract
An optical-model viewpoint, with a Regge-pole form for the absorptive energy-dependent potential, is shown to imply an absorptive correction to Regge-pole formulas for charge-exchange scattering amplitudes. At the same time a closed form for high-energy elastic-scattering amplitudes is obtained incorporating cuts in the angular-momentum plane. Numerical estimates illustrate the difference between these predictions and the uncorrected poles. The power law for large-momentum-transfer behavior is shown to be easily obtainable. Keywords
