Abstract
Electron microscopy has been used to obtain ultrahigh-resolution images projected along the major high-symmetry directions of YBa2Cu3O7-y. It reveals an unexpected structural irregularity which could be of significance in influencing the superconducting properties of this high-Tc oxide superconductor. Keywords
