Abstract
Of 127 placentae from Iceland 1 sample showed an unusual enzyme component called the D zone. No other deviating types were found. The Icelandic series was compared with data from 4 other populations Sweden, England, Greece and Nigeria. The frequency of the Pli gene was significantly lower in Iceland than in England and Sweden. Keywords
