Abstract
The mass dependence of the transverse momenta of secondaries from hadronic collisions is studied in two simple approaches: for a universal transverse-energy cutoff, and for massive hadronic systems composed of many independent constituents. The latter picture provides a natural extension of the parton model to mass-dependent transverse-momentum spectra. Keywords
