Abstract
The multi-sulfur donor ligand 1,3-dithole-2-one-4,5-dithiolate (DMID) has been prepared. Monoanionic or dianionic or non-integer oxidation state complexes of DMID with Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) have been isolated as the tetrabutylammonium (TBA), tetraethylammonium (TEA), or tetramethylammonium (TMA) salts. Elemental analyses give good results for all the compounds. In addition, the compounds are also characterized by negative ion Fast Atom Bombardment (FAB) mass spectral analysis, Fourier Transform Infrared spectral (FT-IR) analysis, UV-Vis spectral analysis and Cyclic voltammetry. Their electrochemical properties are studied. Keywords
