Abstract
The six- and more-pion annihilation channels are studied in terms of multiparticle variables evaluated event by event. In the analysis several newly proposed variables are utilized in addition to others previously introduced. Comparison between the data and a single-particle limited-transverse-momentum phase space suggests a multiperipheral mechanism for the six- and seven-pion annihilation processes. On the other hand, the nine-pion channel was found to be adequately described by a phase-space-like process.
