Abstract
Some N-acylbactobolins (VI) were synthesized, and N-L-alanylbactobolin was identified as bactobolin B. The product by Edman''s degradation reaction on bactobolin was thought to be a key intermediate for synthetic studies, named bactoboamine which was converted to N-acyl derivatives (IX). Antimicrobial activities [using 21 strains of bacteria] of VI and IX were also discussed. Keywords
