Abstract
Record-ings of blood pressure at different sites were obtained during retrograde brachial angiography. Locally there is a prompt rise in arterial systolic pressure followed by a depression. These local brachial and carotid artery blood pressure changes are attributed to the mechanical effect of the high injection pressure followed by a local vasodilatory effect of the contrast medium. Only slight systemic (femoral) blood pressure changes were observed during the study. Keywords
