Abstract
The use of a Guinier‐Simon device has enabled us, firstly, to obtain the XRD (X‐Ray Diffraction) lines of three stoichiometric hydrates namely NAT, NAD and NAM (Nitric Acid Trihydrate, Nitric Acid Dihydrate, Nitric Acid Monohydrate) secondly, to detect the presence of these hydrates in mixtures and also to determine their formation temperature. The latter information is essential to understand the mechanism of formation of PSCs (Polar Stratospheric Clouds).
