Abstract
We report a case of tampon-associated toxic shock syndrome occurring in a 16-year-old girl. While this condition has been reported almost exclusively from the USA it is likely that TSS will be recognised elsewhere with increasing frequency as physicians become more aware of its existence. We consider that TSS must be considered in any hypotensive female in the reproductive age group with diarrhoeal illness. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
